DUCK RACE

Thousands of Ducks flowing down the stream at Wellbrook Beetling Mill on Saturday last, what a success our 'Duck Race' was, great venue, brilliant weather and a good crowd made for a brilliant spectacle and very successful event. Many thanks to all the parents and kids, also all the coaches of our U6/U8/U10 teams(boys & girls), and to Ryan Litter (youth officer), Eamonn McGarrity(MC) & Seamie Donaghy(club development officer), not to forget the man who masterminded the whole thing and did a great job along with his team in organising the event, Noel Kerr. Thanks also to all who supported the event by buying ducks and to all our sponsors and all who donated prizes, and to our hosts at Wellbrook Beetling Mill and also Mid Ulster ladies who supplied the ducks. The proceeds from the event are going towards our new Community Hub.

ACL DIVISION 3

Rock were away to Glenelly in the ACL Division 3 on Sunday last and ran out comfortable winners in a high scoring encounter on a final scoreline of Glenelly 3-11 Rock 1-24. Rock scorers: Liam Nugent 0-13 Cathal McWilliams 0-4 Diarmaid Carroll 0-4 Arthur Donaghy 1-0 Enda McWilliams 0-1 Aidan Girvan 0-1 Conor Henry 0-1. Next game is due to be on Saturday 21st July away to Beragh, reserves at 3pm and seniors at 4.30pm.

MINORS

The minors are at home to Coalisland in the Grade 2 Championship quarter final on Tuesday 3rd July at 7.30pm.

U14'S

Well done to our U14's who played in the Ulster Feile on Saturday in Owenbeg,a couple of narrow defeats,a draw with Emyvale and victory against Rosslea, not a bad days work for our young lads on a blistering hot day. Thanks to Ollie and Paddy and also all the parents who travelled up to support the lads. The squad at Owenbeg was: Aidy Coyle, Faolan Devlin, Matthew Devlin, Conor Moore, Danny McCloskey, Michael Kelly, Jake Lagan, Corey McElduff, Branan Daly, Senan Devlin, Padraig Mullan, Aidy Carroll, Tiernan Reid, Jamie Reid, Charlie O'Donnell.

U12'S

The U12's played Mooortown away on Tuesday night last and they are away to Kildress on Monday 2nd July at 7.15pm. Other upcoming fixtures are:Mon 16th July Eglish(h), Mon 30th Coalisland(a), Mon 6th August Moortown(h), Mon 20th Edendork(a), Mon 27th Eglish(a), Mon 10th Sept Coalisland(h), Mon17th Kildress(h).

U10'S/U8'S/U6'S

Well done our U10's at Derrytresk blitz on Saturday morning winning their games v Clonoe, Brocagh & Derrytresk. Thanks to Derrytresk for the hospitality. The U10 squad at Derrytresk was: Ryan McElduff, Caomhan Clerkin, Kieran McGurk, Fionnan McElhatton, Owen Bloomer, Joel Kerr, Odhran Carroll, Alfie Kerr. The next U10 blitz is due on Saturday 28th July in Rock and the next U8 blitz is due on Saturday 21st July.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to our U8 coach Marty Conway and Briege on the recent birth of a wee baby girl, Eimear Lily, and congratulations also to former senior player Declan Mullan and Julie on the recent birth of a wee baby girl, Olivia Mary.

SUMMER CAMP

SLATEQUARRY DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION

Slatequarry Development Association are running a walking tour in Belfast on Saturday 4th August through Coiste Na Nlarchimi Walking Tours, the Tour will cover The Falls Road Murals and Milltown Cemetery. It lasts 3 hours and finishes with a 3 course meal. Cost is £35 per head which includes cost of bus, tour and meal.
